Q In Module 6, you wrote a brief technical analysis with your team. You followed that with a proposal in Module 7, that was intended to address the same issue. You now have an opportunity to take your idea to a higher level within the organization. Perhaps it’s the President or CEO, or perhaps it’s the Board of Directors. Your viewers will depend on your topic and your purpose. In this week’s Icebreaker, you chose a presentation tool and received feedback on that choice. In the discussion activity, you workshopped your approach and your design choices. Now it’s time to build the actual presentation and deliver it. Step 1: Review the Requirements You may choose any presentation format you like provided you can include: • a title • an agenda • content that clearly articulates the problem, the solution, and any other pertinent information, including support from scholarly secondary sources, all of which will be drawn from your research paper and proposal • a summary • references • appropriate visual elements (at least 3) • at least one audio component (narration) • in-text citations and reference citations (where needed) Altogether, the presentation should have no more than 10-15 slides (or the equivalent amount of content in another format). If you have questions about what is most appropriate in your specific situation, please reach out to your instructor. The presentation must be supported with substantial evidence. You should use the evidence you included in your technical analysis and proposal, and you should also seek new evidence as necessary to support the claims you are making. Persuasion is most effective when it’s grounded with clear, objective source material. In total, you must cite at least three different credible sources in your presentation. Step 2: Craft Your Presentation Create a presentation that effectively persuades your audience. If you feel it is appropriate to do so, feel free to get creative with this assignment. This is your opportunity to have a little fun with your technical communication. Sources cited in the presentation should be formatted according to APA specifications (or as close as possible to APA without them becoming obtrusive in the presentation). Step 3: Submit Your Presentation For this assignment, you may either submit a file (e.g., PowerPoint or similar), or you may submit a link to an online presentation. If you are submitting a file, click "Browse My Computer" and find your file. Once you have located your file, click "Open" and, if successful, the file name will appear under the Attached files heading. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Submit." If you are submitting a link to an online presentation, simply copy the link and paste it into the submission textbox.
